Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Support for Operating Authorities……I now have over 20 years of experience in supporting the delivery the Expedition section of the Award, and from several perspectives! As a qualified Mountain Leader I’ve been the ‘technical’ lead delivering training, I’ve worked as part of larger teams, been the lead in others, and I’ve taken responsibility for group supervision, its planning and implementation. This has been across a number of units, and at all levels from Bronze through to Gold. I’m also an Accredited DofE Assessor, am a member of the Cheviot Assessor Network, and assisted with the delivery of training for DofE staff within a large Operating Authority.  I'm currently delivering staff training for staff supporting DofE in schools operating as Directly Licenced Centres (DLC's)  as well as some who are progressing with the Hill and Moorland Award and Mountain Leader Award.

Approved Activity provider (AAP)………I am currently leading on the delivery of Bronze Expedition Training for Westfield school in Newcastle and am also working closely with  Cleaswell Hill School in Northumberland, helping them with the delivery of a DofE programme to children with Special Educational Needs.  For further information about AAP’s please follow the link

Policy Development……….As a former Personnel Manager I can also provide support to schools or other organisations who need development work in the preparation of Operating Procedures and Policies, for example if applying to become a Directly Licenced Centre.
