Mark Clarkson

Mark's personal mountaineering experience now spans over 15 years, and as well as walking throughout the UK he has been on a number of trips to the Atlas Mountains and French Alps.  He summited Mont Blanc with Paul in 2012! 


He has passed  the Mountain Leader (summer) Award and leads  groups on single and multi day trips in the Lake District and Cheviot hills.  He is also a support leader on overseas trips with students to the Atlas Mountains and Jebel Sahro regions in Morocco.


Mark holds a Diploma in HE Lifelong Learning and has been a lecturer at Newcastle College for the past 12 years, teaching sport and exercise subjects from entry level for level 6 (degree), including outdoor activities modules.


Aside from mountaineering Mark is also accomplished in a number of other sports.  He holds the Archery Leader Award, is a Level 1 Basketball Coach, RFU TAG rugby coach, and takes groups to climbing walls, ghyll scrambling and assists with groups on  Lead Mine exploration trips.  


Mark works alongside Paul on the delivery of the Hill and Mountain Skills Courses.
